I-G3N is the only black empowered female-owned SME to successfully develop lithium-ion batteries specifically for the African continent, and designs, develops and manufactures battery energy storage systems. I-G3N required investment to assist growth and guidance to formalise business operations and a go-to-market strategy.
Edge Growth, through the ASISA ESD Fund, assisted them with a R20m investment and dedicated growth support. They needed investment to assist financial growth and employ more people, and guidance to formalise their business operations and redefine their go-to-market strategy.
This investment and partnership helps to unlock growth in I-G3N’s key target sectors and will also ultimately increase adoption of renewable energy, create jobs and upskill local talent in the growing energy storage industry.
