MTC provide conveyor belt sweeping and maintenance to mines. Selected as one of the five enterprises that Xstrata would invest SME Support in as a part of the Social and Labour Plans, they have greatly benefitted from the support provided by Edge Growth.
Edge Growth assessed the needs of the business and then provided the following support based on the assessment outcome:
- Assistance with administration and regulatory compliance
- Management training
- Capacity building to deliver on new contract- developing a marketing plan in order to grow the number of customers serviced
- Assisting the business to deliver on the larger volumes has enabled them to grow operations sustainably, gaining access to larger contracts and in doing so provide sustainable employment for workers surrounding the mines
